IN 2020, every business had to find ways of coping with changes brought on by the Pandemic. For many restaurants, creating outdoor dining areas was key to survival.
Empire of the Incas Peruvian Cuisine in Downtown Danbury, CT, was fortunate to have a broad sidewalk in front of their restaurant, big enough for tables and umbrellas. They worked with the City of Danbury to create a space suitable for both pedestrians and diners. One component of the new setup was a buffer zone between the tables and the street traffic. What better way to keep the cars at bay than with colorful flower boxes?
Inspired by the public art mural we painted for CityCenter Danbury a few years earlier, the owners of Empire of the Incas commissioned Mural Envy to transform the planter boxes from plain plywood to bright, inviting art. The four-section mural is now a vibrant addition to Downtown Danbury’s vitality and a testament to the community’s resilience!
